Building a caring community is one of the most important aspects of the classroom management/self discipline plan. For students to be able to perform well in a classroom setting, they need to feel like they matter and that they are safe. A caring community can help lessen a student's anxiety about answering questions in class, presenting projects, partaking in discussions, and even taking tests. If a students feels as though their thoughts are valued, they are more likely to participate and find their learning meaningful. Teachers need to spend a lot of time on creating a community within their classrooms, where no one feels out of place, and everyone feels like a positive, cohesive unit. Listed below are some examples on how I will create a caring community within my classroom.
